I recently attended a Google program and had the opportunity to stay at Mountain View's legendary Hotel Strata. It didn't take long to learn that the hotel is something of an institution in the area, even playing a role in welcoming early Google executives when they first came to interview for positions at the company. One moment that stood out was when the owner asked whether I had any feedback on the rooms. He genuinely wanted to know. Over the years, that openness to guest feedback has driven countless small improvements to the hotel's design and amenities, culminating in the exceptionally comfortable experience for which it is known today. What impressed me most, however, was the people behind the hotel. The owner and his family are among the most honest, hardworking, and kind individuals I have had the pleasure of meeting. I won't soon forget when the owner and his son personally drove me to the Mountain View station so I could catch my train on time. They even shared their contact information and encouraged me to reach out if I ever encountered any trouble while in the city. It was a genuine pleasure staying at Hotel Strata. I would recommend it without hesitation.
