Visiting friends in Bay Area with 2 children. A home-like 4-night experience. Clean, tidy, friendly crew, and easily the best hotel stay we've had in the US. The suite felt less like a hotel room and more like a small apartment — well thought out in every detail, and the kids settled in immediately. Housekeeping deserves special mention. They didn't just tidy up: they collected the clothes we'd left scattered around and set them neatly aside, and in the bathroom they lined up my razor and toiletries in a row, with a fresh liner placed underneath. That level of care is rare anywhere. The kitchen off the lobby runs 24 hours with snacks, instant noodles, rice bowls and drinks — a lifesaver with a hungry 9-year-old and jet lag. Breakfast is generous and varied. We also met Sheema, the second-generation owner, at breakfast. She came over to ask how our stay was going and listened genuinely rather than going through the motions. She told us her father bought this land half a century ago, and you can hear the pride in how she runs the place now — that history explains a lot about the standard here. She also gave our son a teddy bear, which made his morning. One detail I have to call out: the bathrooms have washlet-style bidet toilets. We travel to Japan often and have always loved how clean and well-equipped Japanese hotel bathrooms are. This is the first hotel in the US where I've found that same standard. A small thing that says a lot about how the place is run. We'll be back.

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in awhile. Delicious breakfast and great amenities in every room like a bidet, heated bathroom floors, overhead shower head, and little lights under the bedside tables that turn on when you move around. Overall you can tell the owners put a lot of thought and care into designing the rooms. The service is also excellent, even the cleaning staff would do extra touches like folding your pajamas after changing the sheets.
