Over the past two ...

Over the past two years, I have spent a couple of months at Hotel Strata. It has become my favorite hotel by far. The reason I appreciate and enjoy staying at Hotel Strata is the management and staff are really attentive and friendly. Many times, I haven't even asked for anything and they are the ones that come up to me and make sure I have everything I need or just to check in. I think this is for two reasons, one is this is a family owned hotel where the owner actually comes in and interacts with their staff and their guests. The other is because they are in this business to quote the owner "because he likes to take care of people." On a more specific note, here are a series of amenities that they offer that can make travel away from home more pleasant: Clip to close the curtains completely (it's the little things) Shoe horn Weighing scale for luggage at the front desk Bicycle that you can check out Air purifier (it's so helpful with pollen) Gym Ping Pong table and outdoor area Shuttle (within six miles) Bidet 24/7 snacks. Note: So many places close early in this area so this really comes in handy. Freshly made breakfast Reward points (I haven't redeemed mine yet but they offer either a visa gift card or free nights at the hotel). Extra points for making them simple to use. Coffee machine (I don't drink coffee but it seems popular) Yoga Mat in the rooms

This was one of ...

This was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Breakfast was varied and delicious, with great coffee, with a greater variety than your standard continental breakfast. (I'm happy to see miso soup as a breakfast offering, for example.) Part of the breakfast bar was open 24 hours, and included fresh baked cookies when we returned late at night. The rooms themselves were great, with plenty of thoughtful touches. The over the bed rollout desk was nice, as was having USB ports just above the nightstands. There was even motion activated nightlights under the night stand. Of special note was the bathroom - it has a Japanese-style bidet, and heated flooring. Pretty great. Service was warm and thoughtful as well. We received helpful directions from the front desk, and the owner asked after our experiences at the hotel. It's very clear that they care a lot.
