About This Event

Cozy, hard-boiled, soft-boiled, police procedural, thriller. All can be found on the mystery shelf, but each of these sub-genres has its own rules. In this workshop, we'll discuss the differences but focus on the common essential elements: plot and character. We'll discuss the attributes of a compelling sleuth, explore how to build suspense and effectively plant clues. We'll examine the makings of a crime as well as the kind of character who would commit it. So bring your pen and imagination, and you just might leave with a whodunit of your own!
