Things to know about the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts
Make the most of your stay in the Bay Area with an event at the region's beloved repertory theater, Mountain Center for the Performing Arts. Find out everything you need to know ahead of your visit to the MVCPA.
  • The theater hosts two home companies. As the home for TheatreWorks and the Peninsula Youth Theatre, both of Silicon Valley, the MVCPA is the destination in Mountain View to catch everything from seasonal productions to Broadway and off-Broadway premieres, as well as family-friendly performances and acting, singing, and dancing lessons for kids as young as three years-old.
  • There are three stages, including an outdoor amphitheater. In addition to being a fully accessible facility with renovated seating at the MainStage, the MVCPA has two other stages to accommodate a jam-packed performance schedule, SecondStage and ParkStage, an outdoor amphitheater with lawn seating in adjacent Pioneer Memorial Park that's used for concerts.
  • Local art is on display, with free access to the public. Arrive early on performance night to check out the rotating displays from Bay Area artists in the MVCPA lobby, or stop by mid-day on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for free access to the works. You can also take pieces home, works of art are available for sale at the ticket office.
  • Parking is free—but you won't need it. The MVCPA, owned and operated by the City of Mountain View, offers free parking in a municipal underground garage, but you probably won't need to bother looking for spot if you're staying at Hotel Strata. The hotel is less than a mile and a scenic 20-minute walk from the theater.
Plan your visit to include an evening or matinee performance at the MVCPA. Browse the complete schedule of events and current production schedule for an enlightening and inspiring dose of performance art.
